The illness seriously impaired his vision and mobility. As a result he could not put on his pants or shave and he wore a patch over his left eye. However because of his tenacity and determination to do succeed, he always had a positive outlook. His faith in God helped him accomplish all things he set out to do during the course of any day.
In 1996, Jacque recovered from his illness and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications at Michigan State University, a Master of Divinity Degree at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Cultural and Language Certificates in Biblical Greek and Portuguese at University of Detroit-Mercy, in Detroit, Michigan. He is currently working on a Master of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies and a Teaching Certificate in Education at the University of Detroit Mercy. He also has received a Certified Pastoral Education Certificate at Sinai Grace Hospital's Spiritual Care Unit. Jacque continues to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Michigan and gives his testimony about what only God had the power to deliver him from.
